Dr. Montag was raised in Huntington, New York. He graduated from Indiana University at Bloomington with a B.S. in Biology in 1996. He then obtained his D.D.S. degree from S.U.N.Y Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2000. Dr. Montag completed his post-doctoral training at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. In Chicago he gained additional training and education in areas such as cosmetics, oral surgery, dental implantology, endodontics, periodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Montag then settled down in the Capital Region where he associated with several practices before opening his practice in Clifton Park in May of 2004.

Dr. Montag has many hobbies including snowboarding, fishing, golf, tennis, and poker. His wife Jill, a former television news reporter for Fox 23, is a freelance writer. In her free time she enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and listening to country music (against her husband's wishes!)
